It Is Possible to Pass the PMP in 30 Days

Written by Joseph Phillips

Are you cramming to pass the PMP in a month? It takes dedication and focus, but it can be done.

Let’s not waste any time getting started. If you’re going to get to work, you will need the PMBOK Guide, along with mock tests and practice questions.

Here is a four-week study schedule to keep you on track:

Week 1: Focus on the MAIN DOMAINS in the PMBOK Guide:

  • Integration
  • Scope
  • Schedule
  • Cost

After each chapter, try some practice questions. At the end of the week, complete your first practice test.

Week 2: Read through the rest of the topics in the PMBOK Guide:

  • Quality
  • Resources
  • Communications
  • Risk
  • Procurement
  • Stakeholders

Complete more practice questions. Attempt two more mock tests.

Week 3-4: Complete 4 practice tests. Pay attention to any weak areas that the test(s) highlight. Look at the first three chapters of the PMBOK guide:

  • Roles of PM
  • Types of Matrix
  • PMO

Also look at Agile Concepts and Professional Conduct. Continue to read through the PMBOK Guide and focus on any of your weak areas.

Spend about 2-3 hours on each chapter, or a chapter per day. It is recommended that all candidates read the PMBOK at least twice before taking the exam.

Follow this plan, stay focused, and you can do this!
